PC mag made a test of a I mac and a Simiraly prised PC and the PC was faster
and a betere buy (excep for the spell check with was 4 times faster) but if
you only want to spell check buy a diktionary (will be a better buy)

PLease e-mail me back and not just the post

: faster.. heh.. that is a relative term alright.
: guess what boys and girls, I hate to be the one to burst your bubbles but...

: YOU CANNOT COMPARE THE SPEED OF A MAC AGAINST THAT OF A PC.
: Why you ask? Allow me to elaborate.
: PCs and Macs are different as night and day. The Hardware is different, the OS's are VERY different (with the exception of Linux)
: and of course, lets not forget, how equivalent programs on each system are CODED DIFFERENTLY.
: And being so different from each other, its not fair nor accurate to compare the two except in relative terms.

: Stating something like "Macs are faster than PCs" is simply not true.
: It may be your opinion, but that really doesn't mean a thing.
: If you prefer a Mac, of course you will say its faster.
: The same goes for PCs.
: You can't compare an apple to an orange, and you can't compare a Mac to a PC.
: Me, I find a PC works better for me, because it has the features I want and use, and a "comparable" (and I use the term loosely here)
: just does not perform as well, IN MY OPINION.
: It could very well be that the programs I use on my PC are better adapted to the hardware on which its run than the same program on a Mac, or a million other variables.
: In the end, it really doesn't matter. Use what works best for you, and let it be.
: I really don't think we should be trying to force our beliefs and preferences on others.
: If you disagree with me, please do so in a coherent manner.
: Any stupid replies only prove what I as is closer to the truth than anything ya'll can come up with.
: Oh, by the way, I don't want to hear anything about benchmarks proving what I say is false, because cross-platform benchmarks are fundementally decieving.
: Its all relative, people. That means its in the eye of the beholder, for all those who don't seem to know what I mean.
